Overview

Are you an experienced Industrial Electrician looking for a challenging career opportunity in the cement manufacturing industry? Our company is seeking a skilled Cement Industrial Electrician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment within our cement manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working with electrical systems and equipment. 
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment, machinery, and control systems used in cement production, including motors, generators, conveyors, and other industrial machinery throughout the plant.  
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. 
  • Diagnose electrical problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner. 
  • Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to effectively troubleshoot and repair electrical systems. 
  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to coordinate electrical repairs and maintenance activities. 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required. 
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience working as an Industrial Electrician in a cement production facility or similar heavy industrial environment required. 
  • VA Journeyman Card required.  
  • Completion of apprenticeship program and/or certification as an Industrial Electrician preferred. 

 

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  
Knowledge 

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems and wiring, components, and equipment used in heavy industrial manufacturing environment. Must have the knowledge, skills and ability to perform installations, repairs and identify items in this category. 
  • Familiarity with electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards. 

 

Skills/Abilities 

  • Proficient in troubleshooting electrical systems and identifying faults. 
  • Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment.  
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools. 
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals. 
  • Ability to distinguish color for electrical purposes. 
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. 
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities. 
  • Availability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed. 
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions inclusive of climbing and working from heights.
