Overview

Titan America has an opening for a skilled and motivated Manager, Corporate Accounting, to join our Corporate Accounting team located at our Corporate Center in Norfolk, Virginia. This salary exempt position will have responsibility for the company-wide consolidation and lead the effort to develop companywide policies, processes and internal controls that align with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), US GAAP and Titan accounting policies. The position reports to the Director of Financial Consolidation and Reporting.

 

 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsibility for the companywide consolidation of all business units and product lines including:
  • Prepare and issue complete and accurate monthly income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements;
  • Ensure accounting team maintains comprehensive account reconciliations in accordance with SOX requirements;
  • Design and implement financial control disciplines in all reporting processes and develop procedures for an efficient close process;
  • Ensure underlying accounts are in compliance with standards and pronouncements of IFRS and Group policy.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of all phases of the mid-year, interim and year-end external audit process, including directly working with the external audit team, Group and regional accounting teams, and contribution to footnote disclosures. Assist with other required regulatory reporting;
  • Technical IFRS research and development of position papers for advanced operational topics. Serve as a resource for business unit accounting teams in their development of IFRS accounting memos and coordinate with external auditors to ensure agreement on IFRS standards;
  • Educate Business Unit finance teams on IFRS financial reporting standards and Group policies and their impact on reported results;
  • Assist with the development of companywide financial policies and procedures and internal business process controls and lead the implementation within the Company;
  • Engagement of team members through goal setting, constructive feedback, professional development plans, and involvement in personal and professional growth oriented projects.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent capability, required. MBA or Masters a plus.
  • Ten to twelve years management or operational accounting experience, required. Experience in manufacturing cost accounting, preferred.
  • Experience managing a team of finance professionals, required
  • CPACMA certification, or equivalent capability, preferred.
  • Knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), required.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency, especially advanced Excel, required. Knowledge of SAP and Hyperion, a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work under time constraints with a large and diverse group of internal customers.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Can-do attitude and demonstrated experience in working within a team environment.
