Responsibilities

The Fixed Asset Supervisor will oversee the effective management, tracking, and reporting of the companies’ fixed assets. This role ensures compliance with financial regulations, manages asset lifecycle processes, and supports decision-making related to the acquisition, disposal, and optimization of fixed assets. The Fixed Asset Supervisor will collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain accurate records and safeguard company assets, contributing to financial integrity and operational efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Asset Management:

  • Oversee the registration, classification, and tracking of fixed assets, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for asset capitalization, depreciation, and disposal.
  • Coordinate regular physical inventory audits to reconcile asset records and ensure accuracy.

Financial Reporting and Compliance:

  • Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset ledger, ensuring compliance with applicable IFRS accounting standards.
  • Prepare detailed reports for management on asset valuation, depreciation schedules, and cost analysis.
  • Support audits by providing accurate and detailed fixed asset records.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify and implement system improvements to streamline asset tracking and reporting.
  • Collaborate with IT to optimize asset management software or ERP systems.

Acquisition and Disposal:

  • Assist in evaluating asset acquisition opportunities and provide recommendations on asset investment.
  • Manage the disposal process for assets, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory guidelines.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with finance, procurement, operations, and other departments to ensure accurate asset management throughout the lifecycle.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members on fixed asset policies and procedures.

 

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in fixed asset management, accounting, or finance.
  • Proven experience with ERP systems and fixed asset management software.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles related to fixed assets (e.g., depreciation, impairments).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with fixed asset management in the manufacturing industry.
  • Familiarity with internal control frameworks and asset risk management strategies.

 

Work Environment:

This role is typically office-based with occasional travel required for physical asset audits and inspections.
