Responsibilities

We have an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Supervisor at our Corkscrew Mine located in Estero, FL.  This salary exempt position will report directly to the Operations Manager.  This position is responsible for the supervision, performance and maintenance of the plant’s equipment, as well as the lubrication management. This position will be assigned to oversee all the preventive and corrective maintenance schedule of all equipment, while ensuring compliance with safety standards.  Candidates must ensure reliable operations of the existing equipment and systems while ensuring cost-effective maintenance performed. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

  • Develop maintenance program for the mine
  • Track plant availability and work for a target of 92%.
  • Look for opportunities and continuous improvement ideas.
  • Bring the Mining Industry best practices to the site’s maintenance needs.
  • Work with Assistant Supervisor on proper maintenance tracking with the implementation of work orders for cost tracking.
  • Work with Assistant Supervisor on proper warehouse inventory management.
  • Build on the condition monitoring with vibration and temperature.
  • Develop best practice for plant lubrication program, ensuring maintenance schedules are met and the quarry operations remain uninterrupted.
  • Develop oil change program with oil sampling.
  • Work with Operations Manager on Aggregates Flow for the fixed plant.
  • Manage mobile maintenance and contract mechanic.
  • Drive a safety culture for all employees.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred or equivalent applicable degree with past experience in mobile equipment fleet maintenance management.
  • 5 years of experience in a mining or plant maintenance leadership role required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and critical thinking skills. Strong supervisory skills.
  • Strong knowledge of workplace safety standards, including MSHA regulations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of CFR 30 Part 56 regulations. Knowledge of mechanical, welding, service, and lubrication standard practices.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance and maintenance management of mechanical equipment related to mining facilities.
  • Ability to handle physically demanding tasks, including inspections, repairs and operating machinery.
  • Strong diagnostic skills to quickly identify mechanical or electrical issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent computer skills including use of MS Office suite. SAP and CMMS experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of root cause analysis methodology
  • Able to assimilate and embrace change within the operation and work well with others.
  • Safety conscious work ethic always for the protection of self and all others in the work area.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of limestone quarry operations preferred.
  • Prior heavy equipment experience in a construction or mining environment preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual English-Spanish preferred.
  • Able to speak, hear, walk, kneel, crouch, climb, crawl, and lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Capable of working in confined spaces.
  • Ability to perform assigned tasks properly and in a timely manner.
  • Available to work days, nights, and weekends as directed by management.
  • Positive attitude to achieve goals and deliver results individually and in a team environment.
  • Maintain a current Florida Driver’s License and a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
