We are looking for a skilled and motivated Mechanical/Industrial Engineer Intern in the West Florida region. The intern will gain valuable exposure to the engineering and operations at the Tampa Import Terminal, contributing to mechanical system improvements and supporting various engineering projects. This position reports directly to the Terminal Manager, with dotted line reporting to the Growth and Development Project Engineer.

Responsibilities

  • Familiarize yourself with the operations at Titan America’s Tampa Import Terminal.
  • Gain an understanding of the terminal's mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Assist in identifying and consolidating critical spare parts inventory for terminal operations.
  • Contribute to the implementation of the CMMS program (Maintx) to improve maintenance tracking.
  • Assist in developing enhanced mechanical solutions for pneumatic and mechanical systems.
  • Support project management efforts for upcoming projects, including:
    • Creating Capital Expenditure Requests (CER).
    • Building and maintaining relationships with contractors.
    • Assisting in project coordination and documentation as needed.
    • Creating project advance reports for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
  • Adhere to Titan America’s safety standards and regulations, contributing to maintaining a safe work environment by identifying potential hazards and supporting safety initiatives.
  • Participate in safety training programs and safety audits to reinforce safety practices at the terminal and on project sites.

 

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
  • Strong communication skills; equally strong motivational, persuasion, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Enthusiastic, positive, and capable of influencing decisions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to solve engineering challenges.
